Exposure
Powder coating can be an irritant if it is inhaled, or allowed to come into contact with eyes and skin. It is essential that all members of staff are fully trained on the correct usage of powder coating, and are provided with suitable protective clothing, masks and goggles.
Equipment
All of the equipment involved in powder coating, from the dedicated safety apparatus to the coating machinery itself, must be in good working order at all times. Full assessments should be carried out on a regular basis, as well as visual checks before each and every use. If any signs of wear are detected then repairs or replacements must be implemented without delay.
